The breed, Silky terrier was originally a cross between a yorkshire terrier and an Australian terrier.   They have been recognized by AKC as their own breed for many, many years.  Many folks cannot tell the silky terriers and the yorkies apart.  The silkies tend to be a little larger with longer noses while retaining the wonderful terrier personality.  They are egotistical, fun loving and sturdy little dogs. 

My silky terriers are registered with AKC will range from 7 to 13 lbs as adults.   Excellent coats and confirmation are goals of our breeding program.
