Bolognese

The Bolognese (pronounced “bowl-owe-KNEES”) comes from Italy and share its ancestry with the Bichon fries and the Havanese.   There are thought to be less than 1000 bolognese in the United States.   My bolos are registered with American Pet Registry.

They are cheerful, intelligent, focused and obedient.  It is highly attached to its owners and makes an excellent companion.   They bark infrequently,  but will warm of potential dangers, making a good watchdogs.  Bolognese are reserved with strangers, but not aggressive.   They enjoy the company of other dogs, pets and children.   Bolos love attention and they are very playful.  Their activity needs can be met by indoors play, but they love long walks and playtime in a fenced in yard.

Monthly grooming is recommended. Training is generally easy as they are obedient, especially when young.   The life expectancy is 12-14 years and there are no know major health problems.   Average size is 6-12 lbs. and they are hypoallergenic.

Cindy, Mindy, and Lindy (sisters) are all three expecting puppies before the middle of April.  Watch for news of these litters!
